Monday Night Football opened its season on Monday September 12, 2011 with the Miami Dolphins facing off against the New England Patriots. A division rivalry is always exciting to watch because you can only expect the unexpected. I do not plan on attending the game tonight as I would rather be hitting up the streets of South Beach.
If you are a die hard football fan and you probably would never turn down the opportunity to watch Tom Brady live in person. When you are in Miami there are too many things to do with to many good looking people who are seeking an awesome time. It sure as hell beats sitting outside crammed in a stadium with 60,000 other people. So while in Miami on Monday night here is what you should do instead of attending the football game.
After sitting by the pool all day you can head over to one of Miami's favorite quiet happy hours at Fox's Sherron Inn on South Dixie Highway. This place has deep red cushioned booths and some of the best cougars in Miami. Order your beverage of choice and sit tight, within minutes you will be striking up a conversation with any random person in the bar and holding on to laughs before heading out to dinner.
Make a dinner reservation 2 weeks before you even arrive in Miami. Gather with a couple of friends at Prime One Twelve. Prime is an amazing steakhouse with an open floor that offers a hint of privacy with many columns placed throughout that restaurant covered in brick. The waiters are phenomenal and the 48 oz. Porterhouse for 2 is killer! The best part about Prime is that they offer six sauces, and five butters with your steaks and sides. I enjoyed every minute and bite of this place. After finishing off the 2nd bottle of Pinot Noir, we exit the restaurant and find a local spot broadcasting the game.
You can roll into Finnegan's and spend some time reading the large menu of stouts. The game should be entertaining for a quick minute as Reggie Bush and the Dolphins expect to have a great season. Everything else will be a distraction from there on. Your party should plan to meet a group of people who are in town for the week from and are looking to make it out for the rest of the night. Leave Finnegans before the game ends and head over to Tantra. Tantra will already be packed at 11:30pm, which is quite impressive for a Monday night so make sure you are on the guest list. When you leave Tantra at 5 am and time for breakfast at News Café.
